Task 6

 

Animation 1:

1. Title: 

Purl  Pixar Sparkshorts

2. Style:

Computer animated

3. Narrative or Abstract:

This animation video is a narrative because, Purl, a humanoid pink-coloured ball of yarn, begins an entry-level position at a company named B.R.O. Capital.

4. What happens: 

In this animation, Purl has been hired to be apart of a company called B.R.O Capitol. She was in fact very excited to start her new job however, she then realizes that no one is really paying attention towards her as everyone one else are humans who are very confused and making her not fit in well enough with the rest of her partners. Purl then observes the photos of her partners and finds a way in order to fit in with the rest of her partners by having similar suits and hairstyle. After her change, she also changed her personality to be like theirs. She now started to make relationships with the rest of her partners  making her now very noticeable to everyone else. She then get invited to go with her partners to a pub of some kind  for drinks however, a yellow coloured ball of yarn named Lucy arrives at the office and began her work. Purl realises that the yellow yarn is being ignored by everyone else and purl has a moment to think about this situation and how she can turn things around. After purl has thought what she wanted to do, she decides to return to Lacy and invited her to join them for drinks. After time has passed, there are now many other ball of yarns roaming around the office and Purl her self has also returned back to her original appearance.

5. Why was it interesting:

It was interesting because, the way it was executed throughout the beginning and end had an interesting short story of a pink-coloured ball of yarn that is not a human does human jobs. It was very awkward at first for the pink ball of yarn as if it was someone first day in school. And at the end there are even more of the ball of yarns working at that job.

6. What ideas can you take from it:

As of ideas from the animation, you can be as creative as you want even if it doesn't look right for instance a talking and moving ball of yarn. This however, will mean that that ball of yarn is the main point of this video which also makes the story more interesting.

Animation 2:

1. Title:

Cheburashka and Crocodile Gena

2. Style:

Stop Motion

3. Narrative or Abstract:

Its a Narrative because, it is a crocodile singing by him self for his birthday.

4. What happens:

In this video, we have Gena the Crocodile singing whilst feeling lonely and starts to sing to himself on his birthday.

5. Why was it interesting:

This was interesting for me as this firstly gives me nostalgia when I was younger. Secondly you see a crocodile singing to him self on his birthday which is ironic. Thirdly he doesn't seem to have friends like in reality everyone is scared of crocodiles. 

6. What ideas can you take from it:

The ideas I can take from this is be creative by adding human like animals that talk. The whole stop motion was well executed also.

Animation 3:

1. Title:

Pingu Goes Fishing

2. Style:

Stop Motion

3. Narrative or Abstract:

It is a narrative as its a penguin doing human like features such as fishing with a fishing rod.

4. What happens:

In this video we have Pengu the penguin fishing. As Pengu is fishing for fish, we then encounter a seal that is screwing his fishing up by constantly putting the same fish on the end of the fishing rod and eating the green stuff. Pengu then sets a bait for the seal so that the seal can come out and once the seal did come out of the hole, pengu blocks the holes by cover it with ice and once the seal realises, the seal tries to get back in the hole. Pengu starts chasing the seal around and then the ice drops onto the seals arm once it tried to pick it up. Pengi helps the poor seal by opening up the hole again on the ground which then the seal helps pengu to get his fishing rod back. Pengu then gets a massive fish from the seal as a thank you.

5. Why was it interesting: 

It was interesting because, the stop motion was well executed making it look super fluent throughout the whole video. It also had an interesting story line throughout the video by starting having enemies with the seal and then becoming best friends.

6. What ideas can you take from it:

As of ideas a simple storyline can still be entertaining to watch unless its done at a high standard which is what they've managed to achieve here.

Animation 4:

1. Title: 

Masha and the Bear - Recipe for disaster

2. Style: 

Computer animated

3. Narrative or Abstract

Its a Narrative because, the animals act as humans especially the Bear.

4. What happens:

The two main characters are playing their own games. Bear is playing checkers and Masha is playing hockey with the hare. Eventually , Masha gets hungry and asks Bear to cook something for her. Bear offers her porridge and goes to play checkers in peace in the forest. The idea of basic porridge bores Masha to no end so she decides to combine a bunch of porridge and add jam to it to make her own strawberry porridge. She cooks it pretty well and eats it to her approval. Unfortunately the pot keeps cooking more and more porridge and Masha tries eating it but eventually she gets full and needs to figure out how to stop the porridge from overflowing. She never realized that she was supposed to turn the cooker off after she'd finished cooking the porridge that she needed. She starts to feed random animals nearby however, they all also become full. Masha tries to stop the porridge by tying it up with rope and once the bear walks in, it explodes inside his house. After that Masha was made to clean the bears whole house as it was covered. She then asks for food as she is hungry but all Bear had was porridge thanks to Masha supplying it. 

5. Why was it interesting:

It was interesting because, Masha cooks her self porridge not know how to even turn off the fire which then becomes a disaster.

6. What ideas can you take from it:

As of ideas, just be as creative as you can be by coming up with the most stupidity ways to entertain the audience.

Animation 5:

1. Title:

Junior and Karlson 

2. Style:

Hand drawn cartoon

3. Narrative or Abstract

Its a Narrative because, Karlson has a small propeller whenever he pushes a button which allows him to fly.

4. What happens:

In this video we see both the Junior and Karlson spying on the burglars on the roof top. The burglars enter the building and start to take clothing's but the last part of the clothing is Karlson as a ghost. He try's to manipulate them by scaring them in order to get the cloths back which he does it successfully.

5. Why was it interesting:

This was interesting as I would never have thought a burglar would ever want to steal plain looking bed sheets and a small man with a propeller on his back to scare them away and to get the bed sheets back.

6. What ideas can you take from it:

As of ideas, I would say how the use of draw out animation helps achieve that old school look which if I ever wanted to use something like that for an old school look then hand drawn would be the way.
